Eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) is a surgical procedure in which excess fat, skin, and muscles are removed from the upper and lower eyelids.
Types of eyes aesthetics
Upper eyelid aesthetics, one of the most performed operations today is eyelid operations. Generally, complaints about eyelid edema and excess skin, muscle, and fat on the eyelids occur due to many reasons such as advancing aging, excessive weight loss, smoking, and alcohol consumption.
Lower eyelid aesthetics, If the patient has complaints of edema and excess skin in the lower eyelid area, lower eyelid surgery is recommended to the patient.
Lower and upper eyelid aesthetics; If the patient has a tired appearance, excess skin, drooping on both the upper and lower eyelids, lower and upper eyelid operations can be performed simultaneously.
Almond eye aesthetics: Today, one of the most preferred operations is canthopexy operations called almond eye aesthetics. During the operation, the appearance of the lower and upper eyelids is suspended on the upper bone, and the eye structure is transformed into a slanting-looking shape called the almond eye.
Things to Pay Attention to Post-Surgery
- Avoid any activity that tires your eyes for the first 2 days.
- You can shower/bathe 4-5 days after the operation.
- You can drive 5 days after the operation. Eye pomade (ointment) needs to be applied after driving.
- Don’t wear make-up for a week after the procedure to lower the risk of infection.
- Wear sunglasses to avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
- You can wear contact lenses 1 week after the operation if you normally do so.
